Syed Ibrahim Ghaznavi

I am a PhD student at the Computing Department, Imperial College London. I work with Prof. Abbas Edalat on an Immersive Virtual Reality(IVR) platform for self-attachment therapy. My research interests include (not limited to) Computer Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Information Sciences and Information Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D).

I am the lead developer of the Rescue Base Station (RBS) - a customized cellular network which reinstates GSM cellular services in areas where the service gets disrupted as a consequence of a large-scale natural calamity. This project was completed in collaboration with Prof. Umar Saif, Prof. Tapan Parikh and Prof. Kurtis Heimerl. Our work received widespread international media attention. I am also collaborating with Endaga to release a commercial version of the Rescue Base Station.
